Polymer Clay Body Horror Earrings
What started as bits of leftover clay from other flesh-based projects took on a life of their own. These spiraling strips of veiny meat and skin were spawned from scraps of other body-based sculptures. The outside of the spiral features a bumpy texture for a fleshy, Akira-esque texture. The inner helix is smooth and laced with veins to evoke the imagery of having been freshly peeled.
My flesh wearables are inspired by body horror imagery, chronic illness, and the absurd nature of existence in an organic body.
